Nearly 20 years ago, Christy took her first job in environmental education at a conservation summer camp, and she hasn't looked back. She has worked in universities, international nonprofits, local organizations, state agencies, and private companies—always with an eye toward helping people build environmental literacy and meaningful connections to nature. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida and a Master's Degree in Environmental Management from Yale University. When she's not working, Christy likes to swim, surf, and play with her family on the beaches of South Florida, where she lives and works.

Preethi Mony she/her

Preethi Mony is a specialist in the field of environmental education, program evaluation and grants and has a wide range of experience from developing resource matierials, conducting programs with children and adults, as well as evaluating programs and grant reporting.

Growing up in the busy metropolis of Mumbai, she quickly recognized the importance of the social aspects of conservation in protecting the natural world. She has worked with organizations in India and the US to help with environmental education program planning and resource development. She has over 20 years of experience working with zoos and museums to evaluate programs and exhibits and recommend strategies to improve the overall visitor experience. Over the last 2 years, she has worked at a local community college to support grant work (federal, state, and private) as well as to inform data driven decision making in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space. She brings all of these experiences to her current role of EE Grant and Program Manager at NAAEE.

Preethi holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources from The Ohio State University. She earned her M.S. in interdisciplinary Ecology from the University of Florida, and a B.Sc. in Life Sciences from the University of Mumbai, India.

As the Associate Director of Conservation Education at The Marine Mammal Center, an educational center and the world’s largest marine mammal hospital, Adam challenges the community to think differently about ocean conservation using the stories of individual patients that are rescued by the Center.

Sarah Barrow- Program Manager: 

Sarah lives in Hollis, NH with her family, and many animals. Sarah has been an educator for over 20 years, sharing her love of art and nature in every experience. Sarah is the Program Manager for Beaver Brook, where she enjoys engaging with the community and creating enriching experiences for children and families. She loves animals, hiking, sketching wildlife, and collecting inspiration from the great outdoors. Sarah holds a degree in Fine Arts from Alfred University and a master's degree from Wheelock College in the field of child development. 

 

Shanice Bailey

I'm an environmental educator and scientist with a PhD in physical oceanography who specialized in climate and data literacy. I design hands-on curricula and workshops that help learners explore environmental science through coding and real-world data. I co-created the PyClub program to make Python and climate science accessible and engaging for students and educators.

Hi, I’m Rebecca Nathans. I currently work in the health and wellness field while pursuing training in nature-based early childhood education and animal-assisted services. I’m passionate about helping young children build confidence, empathy, and connection through meaningful experiences with nature. My long term goal is to create a farm and nature-based program that supports healthy development, outdoor learning, and a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.
